2 Things We Need to Reach Any Goal

There are a lot of tangible things we need in order to reach a goal. Let’s take weight loss for example-

You may need to make changes to your diet, lifestyle, & nutritional habits. We know this.

But what I want to talk about today goes beyond that.

Let’s get into it.

In order to reach any goal we must…

  1. Have a strong desire to make a change &

  2. Have a willingness to change

Let’s say you want to lose 15 pounds over the next 12 weeks. Great, you have a specific goal with a deadline. This sounds like step number one is complete.

✅ 1. Have a strong desire to make a change

You realize that in order for you to reach your goal you are going to have to make some changes- exercise more & eat less. Sounds easy enough.

So you meet with a fitness coach to get a plan worked out.

At first, it doesn’t seem so bad- he asks you to meet with him 3 days a week & start keeping track of your eating. Not so bad.

But as you progress he is expecting more out of you.

Now he wants you to do cardio twice a week on the days you don’t see him, cut out junk food & alcohol for a little bit, & get more sleep.

And now you think, “Hold on, I didn’t know I had to workout outside of our appointments. I didn’t know I had to sacrifice drinking. And I can’t possibly sleep more; I work too much.”

So maybe you can’t do all of these things to a tee but are you willing to make some sacrifices in order to reach your goal?

“Nobody told me it would be this hard.”

Did you expect it to be easy?

Did you expect to show up to the gym 3 days per week and that was it?

Ok, so maybe I’m being a little hard on some of these things but I’m trying to make a point.

And for the record, I am all about progressing our members appropriately working on one or two things at a time so they don’t get overwhelmed. I’m about the long-term subtle changes leading to long-lasting results.

Here’s the point though-

In order to reach any goal, you MUST have a strong desire to make a change AND have a willingness to make a change.

If Steve Jobs just “kind of wanted” to advance technology by making cutting-edge computers and devices then Apple would not have been created. He had a strong desire along with a strong willingness to make a change and to make a difference.

What do you really want?

Take your big goal and break it down into tangible steps (I teach all of our members how to do this in our programs).

Dig deep and ask yourself- How willing am I to make a change and how important is this to me?

What are you willing to give up in order to reach your goals?

We all have desires to make a change, but how willing are you?

And if your will is strong enough, hit that contact button and we can assess if we are a good fit for each other.
